Our client had lived in New Zealand unlawfully for more than four years. They had submitted various Section – 61 requests through multiple immigration advisers. When they met us, we asked them to immediately depart from New Zealand and go back to their home country.
Their NZ-based partner went to their country twice to live with them and yet INZ declined their temporary visa application thrice.
Eventually, we advised them to submit a partnership-based residence application which was approved. The couple was re-united in New Zealand after almost three years.
